Rubber wood finger joint board is a solid wood integrated board made from rubber wood through processes such as sawing, drying, combing, finger joint, sanding, etc. It is one of the mainstream substrates in furniture manufacturing and interior decoration.
Rubber wood finger-joint board is an engineered solid wood panel manufactured from rubberwood through a series of processes including sawing, kiln drying, finger jointing, sanding, and finishing. It has become one of the mainstream substrates widely used in furniture manufacturing and interior decoration.
Material and Processing Characteristics
Rubberwood features moderate density, clear grain patterns, and a texture comparable to medium- to high-end hardwood species. Through finger-jointing technology, smaller wood pieces are precisely connected to form larger panel surfaces, effectively reducing the internal stress of natural wood. As a result, rubber wood finger-joint boards offer better dimensional stability than traditional solid wood and are less likely to warp or crack.
Most raw materials are sourced from premium Thai rubberwood plantations and undergo strict kiln-drying treatment, with moisture content carefully controlled at 6%–8%, making the boards suitable for various climatic conditions in both northern and southern regions. In addition, the products can achieve environmental protection standards such as E0 and ENF, featuring low formaldehyde emissions that meet the growing demand for healthy and eco-friendly living spaces.
Product Grades and Applications
The industry generally classifies rubber wood finger-joint boards into three grades: AA, AB, and AC.
AA Grade: Double-sided clean surface with no dead knots, insect holes, or cracks, suitable for high-end furniture and visible decorative surfaces.
AB Grade: One premium surface with the reverse side containing minor natural defects, commonly used for standard furniture applications.
AC Grade: Both sides may contain knots and repaired areas, mainly used for cabinet interiors or non-visible structural applications.
Rubber wood finger-joint boards are widely applied in whole-house customization projects, including cabinets, wardrobes, tables, chairs, solid wood doors, stair components, wall panels, and decorative structures. Combining the natural appearance of solid wood with excellent cost performance, these boards are typically priced 30%–50% lower than pure solid hardwood products.
Industry Development Trends
Driven by global sustainability initiatives and carbon reduction policies, rubberwood has gained increasing attention as a renewable and environmentally responsible resource. Its high utilization efficiency aligns with the concepts of green manufacturing and circular economy development.
At the same time, continuous improvements in production equipment and manufacturing processes have significantly enhanced product stability, precision, and environmental performance. Growing demand for customized furniture and whole-house solutions is also accelerating the industry's transition toward greater standardization, refinement, and quality control.
Looking ahead, rubber wood finger-joint boards are expected to maintain steady growth in the green building materials and customized home furnishing sectors, becoming one of the preferred alternatives to traditional solid wood while supporting the future development of sustainable interior decoration.
